Namsos Camping The site borders on lovely countryside and an evening walk here is the best guarantee for a good night´s sleep. Cabins: Namsos Camping has 31 cabins. The 10 largest are modern log cabins with electric lighting and heating, shower and toilet. Each cabin has a lounge and the kitchenette is equipped with an oven, refrigerator and every thing guests need for a long stay. These cabins sleep 6-7 people and have duvets and pillows for the same number of guests. More beds can be arranged on request. There is a toilet and shower block for the other 21 cabins, which makes the more basic cabins comfortable alternative. Bring your own bedlinen and make yourself at home. Fishing: Fishing permits for the river Namsen, one of Norway´s best salmon rivers, are available from Namsos Camping. Campsite guests have access to 4 km of shoreline from which to fish. The Namsen fjord offers excellent sea angling from shore and boat. Only the island of Otterøy, approximately and hour´s drive away, separates us from the open sea of the Folda strait, equally captivating and fascinating in stormy or calm weather. Namsos: As mentioned, the trip into town takes just 5 minutes and Namsos is certainly well worth a visit. It has a tradition as a business and service centre and trade thrives along its wide streets. The town also has some special attractions. Make sure you visit the Oasen swimming and leisure complex - there´s nothing else like it! Oasen is one of the largest complexes in Europe built quite literally into the mountain, with a 50-metre pool, a heated pool, jacuzzi, several diving boards, fitness suite and cafeteria, to name just a few of its facilities. We also recommend a visit to the town´s cultural attractions. The exhibitions at the county gallery are not to be missed and there are always events on at the concert hall - check out the programme, you won´t regret it!
